LM History
In 1993, Peter Drake formed Law Mortgage Management to provide funds management services to an Australian network of solicitors in private mortgage firms. In June 1995, Law Mortgages Australia was established, providing solicitors access to a private mortgage investment scheme extending first mortgage investments over Australian property.
In 1998, tightening in Australian legislation required businesses operating within Australia’s financial services sector to be registered as a Responsible Entity with the governing body, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
In January 1998, Law Mortgages Australia was registered as LM INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT LTD (LM). LM operates globally as a licensed Responsible Entity in Australia doing business in 70 countries across the world.
